Navaratri is a major Hindu festival celebrated over nine nights and dedicated to the worship of the divine feminine, particularly the goddess Durga and her various manifestations. The festival takes place several times a year, with Sharad Navaratri, observed during the autumn season, being the most widely celebrated. It symbolises the triumph of good over evil and commemorates the goddess’s victory over the demon Mahishasura. During the festival, devotees participate in prayers, fasting, religious ceremonies, devotional singing, and traditional dances such as Garba and Dandiya Raas, especially in Gujarat.
