James Talarico is an American politician, former public-school teacher, and Texas state representative. Born in Round Rock, Texas, he studied at the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard University before teaching sixth-grade language arts in San Antonio. He was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2018 and represents District 50.

During his time in the Texas Legislature, Talarico has focused on public education, healthcare, childcare, prescription-drug costs, and other issues affecting Texas families. His legislative work has included measures involving school funding, student programs, childcare affordability, and insulin costs.
